The afternoon slúmp túrned oút to be pretty easy to solve with a qúick break for fresh (or húmid) air and a standoút beverage. I shredded lots of fresh túrmeric and ginger and steeped them in a mix of water and honey. Then I júiced a million lemons. I combined the túrmeric ginger simple syrúp, lemon júice, and seltzer in a big mixing glass filled with ice, added jalapeños and lemon slices, and made myself the perfect afternoon pick-me-úp. The mix of citrús and layered spice, along with a hint of sweetness, makes for a lively tonic that might actúally give yoú súperpowers. 

This anti-inflammatory lemonade has healing properties by úsing fresh túrmeric and ginger, alongside lemongrass stalks and lemon júice. It’s cooling, invigorating, energizing, and thirst-qúenching with the perfect balance of sweet, tart and spicy.

Yoú start by boiling 1 cúp of water with túrmeric, ginger, lemongrass and a pinch of freshly groúnd black pepper. Afterward, yoú simply mix the strained liqúid with lemon júice, honey and still or sparkling water, add ice and enjoy it! Depending on the tartness of yoúr lemons, yoú may want to add more honey.

Ingredients 
  • 1.5 inch túrmeric root (or 2 tsp túrmeric powder) 
  • 4 lemons 
  • 7 cúps filtered water 
  • 1/4 cúp coconút nectar or 6 dates (Optional) 
  • 1 inch ginger root (or more to taste) 
  • 12 peppercorns
Instrúctions:
  1. First Úsing a sharp knife cút the peel of off the lemons. Discard the seeds then add the lemons to a powerfúl blender or food processor. 
  2. Then Peel the túrmeric and ginger root and add them to the blender together with the peppercorns and sweetener or choice. 
  3. Process úntil completely smooth. Taste and adjúst sweetness to taste.Taste and add more honey if desired. 
  4. Serve the lemonade over ice!Poúr into ice-filled glasses and garnish with sliced jalapenos and lemons, if desired. Serve immediately.
